I joined GCS after graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in Classical Music.
I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do and whilst I enjoyed my subject, a career in Music wasn't going to give me what I wanted - to be able to pay off my university debts and purchase my own property. I did however know I didn't want to work on a graduate scheme in a multinational where I'd be lost within the system and that I wanted a job that would give me the recognition for my hard work.
Then I remembered a conversation a few years previously with a friend who had worked in recruitment and, after doing some research into the industry, I decided it was the right career option for me.
I spent a few months training and working for the GCS Contracts Manager before becoming a Recruitment Consultant in my own right, specialising in Project Development for the UK Contracts team.
After starting on the career ladder with GCS I am now a highly successful Principal Recruitment Consultant, with a best month of £45,000. I have billed just short of one million pounds in four years with GCS and am currently being trained to be one of their future Managers.
